Founder: Professor Mohamed Anwar El Etribi born 1946 in Cairo, Egypt.
His father dream for him was to be like his uncle Professor Anwar Abdelrahman; a very famous professor in Andrology in Cairo University.He graduated from the faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University 1969 and chose to work and study the brain starting as Resident in Neurology in the same university where he obtained his Diploma in Neurology and Psychiatry in 1973.He started preparing for his doctor degree in Neurology in 1974,however,he obtained a governmental scholarship in the U.K. for a PhD. in Neuroscience.
He got married 1976 and traveled with his wife Dr. Hoda Hamada to UK. For work and Study.He returned to Egypt to obtain his MD. In Neurology in 1978 and returned to Manchester to pass his examination in M.Sc. neuropharmacology in 1979 and PhD. Neuroscience in 1982.
During his study he worked in Psychiatry with Professor David Goldberg training on general psychiatry,Psychotherapy,Behavioral therapy and Pediatric Psychiatry.He returned to his department of Neurology in 1984 to work very hard since then to establish many advanced units including Ain Shams Specialized units in Neurology and when chosen as the chairman of the department in 1995 he re innovated the whole department establishing the first neurogenetic lab.,muscle and nerve ,sleep lab.,neurocritical care unit etc that inspired the whole country to develop similar units in many other universities.
He supervised 42 research and published more than 40 papers with 2 books in Neurology and a course on DVD .He was chosen as the president of the Egyptian Society for Neurology,Psychiatry and Neurosurgery in 2002 and was elected as the leader and president of the Pan Arab Union for Neurosciences in 2003.
